How can that be free?

Written by Mark Forrester on September 27, 2010 Product News.

A customizable and clean free theme.

Today we introduce you to a theme aptly named “Skeptical”. Why should you be skeptical? Because it’s got some pretty neat functionality for a free theme. That’s correct – a free theme.

Skeptical was designed by Nur Fathihah and submitted to us via our “Submit your theme” page, where we often un-earth great designs and talented designers.

Skeptical’s layout is very flexible in the sense that you can display “related posts” next to your latest posts on the home page, OR have a completely widgetized sidebar. Not only that, you can also add your Flickr stream to the footer region and showcase three noteworthy blog posts tagged with a specific tag that you declare in the theme options.

Mmmm.... what a nice footer

Coupled with those features you generally won’t find in a free theme, you also have the ability to completely customize the fonts used in your posts, sidebar, navigation and footer region. With a wide selection of web-safe fonts and custom Google fonts you really can make this theme something very unique and personal.

Customize your site typography with the in-built theme options

Skeptical is a great WordPress theme for personal bloggers, and users wanting to test-drive and discover what a commercial WooTheme could offer you.

Find out more about it on the theme listing page, or view the demo for a comprehensive look.

    Hi,

is a reasonable “Magazine-Themes” to be expected then in future and not again a “Free-Themes” I I ask myself for what a subscription pays if permanently new “free-magazine” are offered?!

    Greetings from Germany

This isn’t a magazine theme, but more of a personal blogger theme. We have a magazine theme coming up in the next few months for paid subscribers 🙂

Looks awesome! Any chance the custom font feature will be added to some of the paid themes like Headlines?

Very nice, the web needs more minimal design like this I think. And free as well, what more can we ask?

Very good looking and cool theme. It has some bugs though. The subscribe to RSS option in the backend has the feedburner link but still in the homepage it shows the default wordpress feed URL.

The Title in the blog, if its too long, like two lines, then there is so less space between two lines.

If its a big image, then it appears even after the white block, that surrounds the blog post. Does the image automatically resizes, if yes, then also it goes after that white block, some 2 pixels. Check it by inserting an image.

I really hope you guys solve these bugs. Great work BTW, considering a free theme.

    In your template-contact.php you’re using:

    } else if (!eregi

eregi function has been deprecated as of PHP 5.3.0.

    Replace with: i.e.

    } else if (preg_match(‘/^[a-zA-Z0-9]+$/i’

It would be nice of me to give you the actual code to replace this, so here is that as well.

I actually have very similar contact form myself and wanted to look good “under” the latest php.

    Sorry for intrusion,

I think this is a really nice, clean theme. If you could remove the right sidebar to make the post width able to accommodate 800 wide photos, it could be a decent photo-blogging theme. I think this would be very popular if you did this and released it on wordpress.com. I’d use it like a shot!

P.s. Probably not the right place to report this, but your demo sites don’t work properly on the iPad. The screen is ‘locked’ to the initial display, and won’t scroll.

Stress isn’t only experienced by adults. Teenagers can also experience serious cases of stress that is caused by more than overactive hormones and an acne breakout. In fact, serious cases of personal stress can result in physical, emotional and/or behavioral changes, eating disorders, depression, and in extreme cases, suicide.
