Announcing WooConf 2017: get all the details and reserve your spot

Written by Nicole Kohler on May 2, 2017 Blog, News.

The last two WooCommerce Conferences were a treat, bringing the WooCommerce community to San Francisco and then Austin for multiple days of talks, workshops, and invaluable impromptu chats between sponsors, developers, and our support team.

We’re excited to announce that we’re bringing WooConf back for a third round in October 2017, this time in Seattle, Washington. And with this iteration we’re narrowing our focus to provide the best experience we can for developers, from agency owners to freelancers.

Keep reading to get more details on this year’s WooConf, plus find out how you can save $200 by buying your ticket now.

When, where, and how to get there: everything you need to know about WooConf 2017

This time around, WooConf will be taking place on Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20. We’ll be holding the conference at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center in Seattle, Washington.

WooConf 2017 is set to take place right alongside the picturesque Seattle harbor. (Image credit: Bell Harbor)

The Bell Harbor is a waterfront venue that offers a ton of space for speakers, workshops, and mingling with attendees. It’s within walking distance of Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market, plus multiple hotels suitable for your visit to the bay area. It’s also a short walk from the legendary Space Needle, plus plenty of other attractions.

Can’t make it to Seattle? No worries: just like last year, we’ll have live streaming options so you can watch along with us, and recorded sessions will be made available afterwards so you can catch up on all the talks.

This year’s lineup: six amazing keynotes, 30+ speakers, and hands-on workshops

We’re happy to announce that we’ll have six phenomenal keynote speakers this year:

  • Rand Fishkin, Wizard of Moz
  • Beka Rice, Product Lead at SkyVerge
  • John Maeda, Global Head of Computational Design and Inclusion for Automattic
  • Zach Stepek, Founder of Mindsize
  • Kandace Brigleb, Partner at Needmore Designs
  • And last but not least, our very own Todd Wilkens, Head of WooCommerce
Our six keynote speakers, aren’t they amazing?

But this is just a sampling of what we have to offer this time around. We’ll be hosting more than 30 speakers, plus holding eight workshops where you can go hands-on beside industry experts and talented developers.

We’ll post the full schedule to WooConf.com over the next few months, so keep an eye out for updates.

Interested in sharing your own WooCommerce knowledge and experience with our attendees? We’d love for you to apply as a speaker!

The ultimate event for WooCommerce developers

We’re calling this round of WooConf a “developers conference.” We wanted to quickly explain what that means for you.

Anyone who runs their business with WooCommerce will enjoy WooConf. However, we’re building out this year’s speaker list and workshops to appeal mainly to freelancers, agencies, WooExperts, and other developers working with WooCommerce on a daily basis.

This includes anyone writing code, designing websites, or working with clients as a project manager or business owner. It also includes those of you who design, customize, and write code for your own store (or lend your services to a friend now and then).

If you’re an agency that works with WooCommerce, WooConf is a no-brainer. You won’t find such a high concentration of expertise anywhere else in the world, at any time.

— David Lockie, Pragmatic Web

We’re confident you’ll find something of value in the conference no matter how you use WooCommerce. But we know most of you are pretty “hands-on,” so we’ve made these changes to deliver an experience you’ll find truly valuable.

How to buy your ticket now (or get one on the house)

Early bird tickets for WooConf are now on sale — you can pick yours up here if you’re ready to book.

Your ticket includes:

  • Two full days of presentations and workshops from world-class speakers.
  • Food — specifically breakfast, lunch, and snacks at the venue.
  • Entry to the opening happy hour and after parties.
  • As much time as you can handle spent networking with and learning from developers, sponsors, certified WooExperts, and WooCommerce employees.

The early bird price of $499 is good until June 30. On July 1, ticket prices will rise by $200 (and availability will be limited), so don’t spend too long thinking about your decision!

If you can’t afford a ticket, don’t fret — you can enter to win your way to the conference. We’re bringing back our Golden Ticket competition again this year, allowing developers to send us their best work for a chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Seattle plus a hotel stay and full admission to the conference.

We’ll make another announcement right here when the Golden Ticket competition opens later this month, and we’ll be sure to let you know who wins the lucky prize this year.

Will we be seeing you at WooConf?

This year’s WooConf promises to be packed full of product announcements, learnings, and community building with WooCommerce developers from around the world. We’re stoked to be hosting our third conference and hope you’re just as excited to attend!

If you’re eager to join us, head on over to WooConf.com and buy your ticket. Don’t wait too long — the early bird rate of $499 is only available through June 30.

If you know you can’t make it, we’ll announce how to watch the livestream or access recorded sessions at a later date. We’ll also be posting more about the Golden Ticket competition and how to enter before the month is up, so keep an eye out.

Have any questions for us about WooConf, this year’s location, or something else related to the event? Leave a comment and we’ll get back to you soon.

We hope to see you in Seattle!

Hi Nicole, yeah for visiting Seattle this year! Is there a estimated date for final lineup announcement and/or movement towards providing multiple speaking tracks (shop owner/agency + integrator/developer)?

Hey there! Right now we’re aiming to have announced the full speaker and workshop lineup around the start of July (when early bird ticket sales end).

As speakers are announced, we’ll have some more information on tracks, schedule, etc. These updates will be posted on wooconf.com/on the @WooConf Twitter as they happen.

      Hope that helps 🙂

Hey there, we’d be happy to have you! You’d need to buy a ticket and then book a hotel stay close to the event (some suggestions: http://bit.ly/2r1uof8). For flights, you’d want to fly into the Seattle-Tacoma airport (SEA).

Hope that helps a bit, if you have any specific questions let me know.

Hi Karan, sorry to hear that’s not working. I tried purchasing a ticket and also had a friend give it a try, and the process went through. I do not see a ‘Next’ button. I see Continue and Buy Tickets. Can you please try again? Thanks so much! 🙂 Please let me know if it’s still giving you trouble.

    Hi Nicole,

My son has been coding since he was 10 and does actual project work with me at http://www.brightvessel.com on small projects. He is now 13 and I would like to come with me. Is there an age requirement?

    Thanks,
    Judd
