Adding Images To Posts (Using the Image Resizer) ↑ Back to top

Background Information

Many template pages for Open Air use an embedded image within a post when displaying the post to a user.

This means you need to add a custom image to a post to display with the post. If you fail to add an image, it won’t be displayed or disrupt the theme.

A custom image resizing script (thumb.php) will dynamically resize, cropping and creating an image in the appropriate size needed for the template.

Note: Images need to be added to Featured Posts as specified below.

Instructions

Adding Videos to the video player ↑ Back to top

Open Air has a built-in Video Player (demo here) that aggregates all videos you have added in posts. It’s unnecessary to create a new post with only a video to display.

If you want to add a video to your post and want that video to be displayed on the Video Player page:

**Note: Video player only supports YouTube videos.

Custom Settings
  1. Go to Write > Post tab, and complete all standard fields.
  2. Copy / paste the embed code of the YouTube video into your post content and position it anywhere.
  3. Add a tag to the post. The tag should be video. (You may also add other tags.)
  4. Scroll down to the Open Air Custom Settings panel (below Categories) and enter three optional fields:
  • Video URL. From YouTube, open a video and copy its URL, i.e., http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRYDetbwegs
  • Video Title. Add a description to the video for readers.
  • Video Image URL. This field works as described above. If you want the post and video thumbnails to be different, paste an unique image URL into this field. If blank, the video player uses the post thumbnail.

Only the video embed code and title are required for the video to be displayed on the video player.

Related Posts ↑ Back to top

Open Air has an integrated plugin to show related posts in each post’s left column. To make this work, add tags to your posts. When there are enough tags and they match, the plugin finds and shows them in the left column.
