WooThemes is now running WordPress 2.7!

Escrito por Magnus Jepson on diciembre 11, 2008 Product News.

We have now updated all our demo themes to the latest version of WordPress! There were no problems at all in the upgrade, so you can go ahead and upgrade! There is no need to update your theme to the latest version if it is working fine on your current installation.

The new version of WordPress sports a brand new admin interface which is incredible in our opinion. Much quicker and better layout than the last one. There are also some new features available in version 2.7 like threaded comments, which we will now start adding to new themes and also our old themes. We are aiming on doing a mass update of all themes with the new features that we believe are worth adding, so stay tuned for an update in the coming week.

Which features would you to see in the future update of our themes? Let us know in the comments below…

Update! We are currently updating our themes to support threaded comments. Here is the list of themes that have been updated:

  • Busy Bee v1.1 – (demo)
  • Gotham News v1.1 – (demo)
  • Abstract v1.0 – (demo)
  • Fresh News v1.4 – (demo)
  • VibrantCMS v1.2 – (demo)
  • Papercut v1.2 – (demo)
  • Gazette v1.3 (demo)
  • Live Wire v1.3 (demo)
  • NewsPress v1.3 (demo)
  • Flash News v1.3 (demo)
  • Over Easy v1.1 (demo)
  • Open Air v1.2 (demo)
  • Thick v1.1 (demo)

Please review the changelog.txt in the theme directory for info on which files to update. We are working on updating our other themes and will update this post when they are done.

A question magnus: Can I upgrade the version WordPress with the Woothemes now I am installed in the Hosting, or too I can upgrade the themes?

    Sorry… my english is poor…

In another words: upgrade only WP 2.7 or upgrade WP2.7 and our Woothemes too?

    Thanks

You only need to upgrade WP 2.7. All our themes are compatible and don’t need to be updated 🙂

    Awesome! I can’t believe 2.7 is finally out. 😀

Even better that all themes still work perfectly on 2.7. I love WordPress….

Have you considered incorporating cforms II for use on a standard Contact page?

    Busy Bees looks wonderful, BTW.

Would you be able to modify the backend of the theme so that in the admin panel there is a Woo Icon for the theme options page. If I activate a few plugins which all add their own top-level page then it becomes impossible to tell them apart when I contract the side menu.

See here for details on how to do it:

    @Magnus

Any tip of what is coming on December 16? I’d like to join the Club, and I’m not sure if I should do it now or wait few days. 🙂

Threaded comments. I’d love to see this as quickly as possible as I’m weighing them against Disqus. The longer I love the (newish) blog on default comments then the more comments I may loose if I roll Disqus over the the previous posts…

Do we need to do anything to take advantage of the Google Gears feature?

Threaded comments are something we will do, and I’ve already done Busy Bee. Just need to test it properly first 🙂

Magnus are you encountering any problems in 2.7 with Plugins mainly Slimbox? It doesn’t seem to open the full image when it’s clicked, even in the demos here.

  18. Magnus Jepson
    diciembre 17, 2008 at 1:20 pm #

@doug – We only use slimbox on proudfolio, and it is working when I test it.

If your theme now supports threaded comments, then you should read the changelog.txt in the theme folder, where we list the files that need to be updated

I’m running Busy Bee on 2.7 – but my threaded comments don’t seem to work? Is there some sort of hidden option to turn it on?

  31. Magnus Jepson

You have to turn it on under Settings->Discussion

Can’t wait to see threaded comments in openair! You guys make some of the nicest themes I’ve ever seen. A great deal at any price!

  34. Magnus Jepson
    enero 5, 2009 at 7:30 am #

@Cliff – I’ve now made threaded comments in Open Air, but the comments do not indent because of limitations in the way the theme was coded and styled.

    Hi.
Any word on Thick? I have a project starting on Monday and i’m using the Thick theme. If it’s planned for the next week, i’ll hold off on looking for a threaded comment plugin.

    Thanks
    Steve.

Almost in the same boat as “Steve ‘Chippy’ Pane” actually. I’m starting work on a project with the THiCK theme myself, and I already started looking into customizing the theme to work with threaded comments, but if it’s already in the works, I can focus on other portions of the project while I wait.

    @Magnus Jepson

Either you have impeccable timing, or you have fantastic customer service. 😀

Thank you so much. You saved me several hours of coding to set that up myself at the very least. Not to mention I probably wouldn’t have done it half as cleanly since it’s not my code.

    Thanks again!

    I have Proudfolio.
After I upgraded to 2.7, the “Add Portfolio Item” is no longer an option in the Post section. How do I add items to the portfolio loop without the button? Or is there a way to get that button/option back on my dashboard? Thanks.

    Hey,

I dont know why nobody noticed it, but some themes are not ready for threaded comments! For example, your demo of Typebased is broken with nested comments, as they tend to more and overlap with right sidebar space! Will this ever be fixed?

Hello. I want to buy BusyBee for my website. I want to know if the reply to comment plugin comes in the pack with the theme or I have to install it separately and do the CSS changes myself.

    Thank you!
