‘Current situation:
– import feature allows to add customers, vouchers and orders and merge customers and vouchers (modify existing information if customer ID or voucher ID are given).
– import feature does NOT allow to merge orders (modifying or adding data to existing orders)
Use case:
– adding or modifying meta information (e.g. for custom fields)
– updating the status of orders (if exported, handled outside the system and then imported)
Highly valuable, even if only for non critical information such as products, quantities, payment gateways etc.

If you are importing customer information and orders into a staging website which already has some of the customer information and orders will this simply overwrite these?
Or will you see duplicate customer information and orders?
PS: In the documentation it says it is on the roadmap. Any ETA for it?
Hey, thanks for sharing this idea! It is indeed on our roadmap for a future update, sometime in late Q3 2015. We’ll update this idea when the new version is available for download.
The import/merge distinction is incredibly vague, and not terribly useful.
Merging also differ between the Customer/Order/Coupon CSV Import Suite and Product Import Suite:
Customers: Merging skips over new customers.
Products: New products are imported (much more useful).
Agreed, could use this for importing Tracking #s to orders.
