Dynamic pricing / Regular pricing to work in conjunction with coupon codes.

In many cases, we set products in discount that we do not want coupon codes to be applied on top of these catalog discounts, currently when creating a coupon code it allows you choose not to apply a coupon if other coupons were already applied and it will be great to add the same option to not be applied if other price rules have already been applied.

I am having the same issue, it prevents my store from running discounts/sales because the % is carried over and subtracted from the wholesale cost as well.

  2. Anonymous says:

Is the only way to do a dynamic payment system with the $100 plugin?

  3. Anonymous says:

It would be very helpful to have coupons work in conjuction with the dynamic pricing plugin – For instance, I’d like to set a coupon code for certain promotions at 10% off but I already have bulk discounts set for the order total pricing.

  4. Anonymous says:

I’m having the same issue right now. We offer discount rates on cart totals via the Dynamic Pricing and would like to also offer coupon codes for discounts but without them being added to the already set order total discounts.

  5. Anonymous says:

    Looking for this too!

  6. Alex Williams says:

i need this too. ridiculous that the 2 are not compatible when you have to PAY for dynamic pricing extension

  7. Bill Karkavos says:

I believe that is very much needed to make the Dynamic Pricing work together with coupon codes. While setting an Advanced Category Pricing Rule the offered discount is not excluding the coupon discounts. Coupon discounts can still be applied in addition to the Dynamic Pricing discounts which is rather out of the scope of the Dynamic pricing plugin, making it hard to incorporate it and adjust it to the needs of a company that issues discount coupons.

  8. Bill Karkavos says:

Are there any updates on this?

    Thank you!

  10. Zorem says:

Dear Bill. thank you for your comment, did you see the dates of the 2 ideas? this idea is much earlier..

  11. Bill Karkavos says:

Hello Zorem, no frankly I did not see the dates. Is that of importance? Since the ideas are the same I believe that the votes on each one should be counted together. That is why I also linked to the other thread. 🙂

  12. Bill Karkavos says:

FYI > This is the same idea with here > Just thought that the votes should be counted together since this is effectively the same.

I’m looking for a simple Buy One Get One free (bogo) COUPON. Almost every webshop solution has it but woocommerce not. This is a very basic thing, so Dynamic Pricing is a very good addition…. BUT it has to work in conjunction with the standard coupon system and Woothemes Follow Up e-mails. Otherwise it’s just a half solution. We want to send automated follow up emails to customers with a bogo offer.

  14. Corey Caswick says:

    We also need this feature.

  15. Corey Caswick says:

As Bill Karkavos notes, this is the same idea as and the two should be merged by the admins to avoid duplication. As of this comment, the two posts have a combined total of 50 votes.

  16. Luis Martins says:

    Can’t believe this isn’t built-in already…
    Please, please add this feature.

  17. Dustin says:

This is a must have feature! Any update on when this is going to happen?

  18. Bill Karkavos says:

As of this comment, the two posts have a combined total of 60 votes. Any updates?

  19. Javier says:

We need this to be solved. Coupons and dynamic princing must work together.

For example: If a I add discounts based on user roles, I don’t want them to be able to use coupons in addition.

It is been 2 years people asking for this MUST feature.

  20. Bill Karkavos says:

Again this is the same idea as here so the votes should be counted together >

Dynamic pricing plugin is really cool but the fact that it does not work with the core discount coupons is a pretty big issue plus some other stuff like not displaying clear notes on order notification emails and relevant pages when a dynamic pricing is applied (but that’s another issue).

The thing is that this ideas will never be noticed here in the ideas board as there are many ideas prior with much more votes.

I m gonna open a woo ticket and see if I can push this as a github issue.

  21. Lucas Stark says:

There are a couple different types of integration being asked for. Is the ability to disable coupons when dynamic pricing rules are applied the use case everyone is looking for?

What about coupons that apply to items in the cart which are not effected by dynamic pricing? If I receive a buy one get one offer on product X, but I also have a 10% discount coupon code for product Y what should happen?

  22. Bill Karkavos says:

Hello Lucas, thank you for commenting on this.

I believe in general that main thing is to prevent coupons from being applied when a dynamic pricing rule is applied. Most of the vendors are not willing to have a discount being applied on top of a dynamic pricing rule. It is usually one way or the other.

If the coupon is per cart then the customer will not be able to checkout – as they should not get the discount on top of the dynamic pricing discount/offer

If the coupon is per product (as the scenario you are mentioning) then ideally the customer should be able to checkout instead of placing the order in two parts. But obviously product X and product Y should not be in the same category.

  23. Lucas Stark says:

What if it’s a cart coupon but only some of the items in the cart are being affected by dynamic pricing?

  24. Bill Karkavos says:

    Hello Lucas,

as I mentioned before, in 90% of the cases I ve run, the vendor wants either the discount coupon or the dynamic pricing discount to be applied on cart – not both.

So in the case of a cart coupon, the ideal would be that the discount coupon will apply only to the items that are not affected by dynamic pricing.

    Let me know any thoughts.

  25. Bill Karkavos says:

Hello Lucas, have not heard anything back regarding this. Please let me know if there is a plan for this down the line.

  26. Anonymous says:

Is there still no update on this? I just purchased this plugin and I have no use for it if this feature isn’t implemented.

    Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

  27. Bill Karkavos says:

Hello unfortunately I cannot see there is an update on this despite my attempts. I will try again to post a ticket to Woo regarding this. Really disappointing as this for sure causes problems as customers can take the dynamic pricing discount plus the coupon discount on top of this!

  28. Ryan says:

Listen to your customers. This is basic functionality that every other ecommerce platform offers.

  29. Rob says:

March 03, 2012 is the date of this request. I’m no expert at math, but I think that’s four years and a bit over 5 months at this point. Isn’t that long enough to develop this functionality, with 77 votes for it?

It shouldn’t take a presidential term to add a coupon code filtering feature.

  30. Bill Karkavos says:

I agree – unfortunately also the two plugins I ve found in codecanyon doing dynamic pricing are not supporting this – so in general this is a bigger issue as there is really no solution around it.

  31. Merete says:

    Any updates on this now?

  32. Diego says:

It would be really nice to have an option to choose if to apply the coupon to regular price or price or selling_price

  33. Bill Karkavos says:

Hey – funny someone recently commented here as only yesterday I go the promotional email for the woomarketing bundle that includes the dynamic pricing plugin –

It is logical that there are many other ideas with more votes comparing to this but what really strikes me is that people focus mainly on adding more functionality to Woo – which is a good thing – and forgetting about improving current functionalities. I find dynamic pricing to be a very useful tool for marketing and it really needs to work seamlessly.
