Woocommerce Waitlist needs to allow non-registered users to leave their email address with your site

This is an awesome extension but really needs to allow customers to leave their email address without having to register. It’s too much to ask someone to create an account. Please please add this feature to Waitlist! Thank you!

I am one of the developers of this plugin, and feel that we need to clear this one up a little.

It is possible for a user to register for a waitlist without first creating an account, but an account is created for them behind the scenes automatically without further action from the user.

In order to aid our users to comply with GDPR requirements, we provide options to display a message to the user informing them of the account creation on signup, and a checkbox to confirm consent. The account creation enables our users to provide their customers with complete control over their waitlist data, allowing them to remove themselves from active and archived waitlists via a control panel in their My Account page, or to have their data removed by the site administrator. It is not possible to do this without having an account created for them.

Shopify would never let customer feedback like this be ignored. Their staff are all over any and every suggestion from customers, clarifying requirements, giving ETAs etc. The difference is like night and day.

this has been taken care of in the recent updates. You can definitely sign up for the waitlist with user accounts.

    Already is possible.

“Unregistered users can join a waitlist without logging in. Users only need to provide an email address to join a waitlist, and an account is automatically created without further user input. The welcome email is automatically created and sent.”

Agreed – I’ve turned off the account registration system (don’t want to keep that kind of data on the server), but really want a waitlist option.

I prefer to buy woothemes plugins but I only see this guest/visitor option on a competitors plugin. Please add this functionality and I’m happy to purchase woothemes waitlist.

Yes! I’m also looking for this, unfortunately there are no other plugins available that offer this..

This is a deal breaker. I was just about to buy this plugin, and now it is useless to me after seeing this thread unanswered.
