American Music Furniture
American Music Furniture create handcrafted, humidity-controlled wooden displays for musical instruments.
The company was founded “by musicians, for musicians” back in 2013 in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. Darrell and Roger Horneff wanted to focus on building both humidified and dehumidified cabinets to display and store stringed instruments. Partner John Farrell joined the following year, bringing a keen understanding of guitar construction and maintenance with him.
American Music Furniture “takes the same care in building your furniture that you expect when buying a fine instrument.” Patented products such as the Guitar Habitat®, Guitar Estate™, and String Habitat® are all constructed from hand-selected hardwoods.
“It was obvious that great guitars needed an environment that reliably maintained 45-50% relative humidity year-round, while [keeping them] easily accessible to get played often.”
“[We believe] that if your guitars, mandolins, and other stringed instruments are in reach instead of in a case, they will be played more often,” says Darrell. “That’s what you bought them for.”
“All products are…carefully finished for the kind of quality that used to be available from American furniture manufacturers more than 50 years ago.” The Horneffs pair this old-school attention to detail with the latest humidification technology for “the ultimate in guitar storage and display“.
