Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy is a leading international source for training, therapy, and resources in CBT.
Dr. Aaron T. Beck and his daughter, Dr. Judith Beck, established the institute in 1994 as a setting for state-of-the-art psychotherapy and professional training. From its base in Bala Cynwyd, suburban Philadelphia, the Beck Institute has enhanced the lives of individuals by providing exceptional CBT training to health and mental health professionals worldwide.
Dr. Beck developed Cognitive Therapy (CT) – also known as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) – back in the 1960s as a psychiatrist at the University of Pennsylvania. In the years since its introduction, CBT has been studied and demonstrated to be effective in treating a wide variety of disorders. Centers for Cognitive Therapy have been established all over the world by clinicians, researchers, and academics who trained at Beck’s original center in Philadelphia or the Beck Institute.
“Our mission is to improve lives worldwide through excellence in Cognitive Behavior Therapy.”
Professionals who have completed a terminal education degree with a behavioral or mental health specialization can apply for Beck CBT certification online, with three levels of certification available. Training is also available through in-person workshops in Pennsylvania or from anywhere in the world thanks to online courses in partnership with Psychwire.
In addition to professional and client services, Beck Institute remains an international authority and source for CBT information and research.
Today, the Beck Institute has grown into an unparalleled hub for CBT excellence. The center offers online resources, unmatched training opportunities both for individual professionals and for organizations, and provides clinical cognitive behavior services to clients at its Philadelphia headquarters.
