Palm Harbor Montessori
Palm Harbor Montessori is a private school in Florida for kids from the age of 3 to 12.
Opened in July 1983, the school offers the highest quality individualized Montessori education experience, focused on fostering independence with a sense of community and global awareness. Multi-aged classrooms provide children with a carefully prepared environment and a wide range of quality materials.
Montessori is one of the fastest growing and most respected methods of education. Developed in 1907 by Dr. Maria Montessori, the first female physician in Italy and a renowned educator, Montessori students learn through practicing tasks rather than through listening and memorization. The curriculum is very broad, including exercises to develop the child’s basic capacities-his or her ability to control movement and to feel and have emotions.
The school features individually tailored academic plans, extensive science and fine arts, hydroponics, healthy routines and snacks, rigorous academics, computers, chess and robotics, culinary arts, and a variety of sports and fitness activities.
Palm Harbor Montessori has 40 highly qualified teachers, assistants, specialists, and administrative staff. The school is a Five Star Family Involvement School through the Early Childhood Learning Coalition, and is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) and the Florida Kindergarten Council (FKC).
