VerifyWP is a skills assessment platform making the WordPress developer hiring process easier.
coolblueweb’s Jonathan Martin has experienced the problems inherent in the technical hiring process firsthand. He was frustrated that roughly half the WordPress developers hired are let go, simply because their skills didn’t match expectations.
Jonathan set out to remedy this abysmal success rate by creating VerifyWP. This technical assessment platform is developed to test all job applicants, and return their results in an easily sortable list.
The previous time-consuming, error-prone process of manually filtering through resumes with unconscious bias is thus avoided. Employers are secure in the knowledge that the candidates they interview are qualified for the position.
To make the site work as envisioned, developers at Seattle’s coolblueweb leveraged the open-source freedom of WooCommerce to handle Assessment Pack purchases, with the help of WooCommerce One Page Checkout and Stripe.
Dashboards for candidates, trial users, and hiring managers were custom developed using Advanced Custom Fields PRO. An in-house page builder – Section Builder – was also deployed to make new page creation simple and intuitive.
A WordPress-specific job board was also added to the site, requiring customizations made to WP Job Manager. This feature added another dimension to expand the seed offering of the company, at no cost to the user.
