Skeptically caffeinated

Escrito por Mark Forrester on setembro 8, 2010 Product News.

I’m not even sure that title makes sense, but it does somewhat describe the next two upcoming themes, and was the title of the email Cobus sent me with the teaser graphics.

Firstly, we have Ryan Downie’s personal portfolio theme design that he originally designed for his own personal use – fueled by his passion for Coffee, Red Bull and lunchtime pot of noodles according to his Twitter stream.

This theme’s release is literally around the corner and boasts more custom post type integration and a great summize of your online presence on the home page.

Then we have another exciting FREE theme coming to you in the next couple weeks. Skeptical is a clean personal design by Nur Fathihah – who submitted a design to us via our site, that we believe should be a hit based on Typebased‘s similar styling and success.

Don’t worry there is of course lots of other development going on behind the scenes – a great new feature to the WooFramework by Foxinni (think sidebar management), an exciting restaurant theme with lots of niche functionality, iPhone testing and SVN management. Hope those hints are subtle enough to get your mind’s racing.

Both of the previews look great! I’m glad there are more niche themes in the works too like the restaurant theme.

They look great, but what news on the ecommerce functionality?

That seems to have fallen away, no?

Definitely not. It’s very nearly finished, followed by some rigorous beta testing, then unleashed into the wild. Get excited.

P.S. We teased it in our August newsletter. Another reason to subscribe to that 🙂

As a club member I always feel cheated when freebies come out. I see them as almost good enough themes, but did not quiet make the cute so released free. To top it off they seem to take the 2 themes a month quta? I would not even care if in the months you released the FREE themes, you also released ‘regular’ 2 themes as well!!

Looks like this month is going to be another one of “those” months from woo. Where things that matters to us (or me anyway) like e-commerce themes and everything mentioned in the sealight page…We will be waiting for.

    Really hoping I am wrong..

Quality takes time and we’re not about to rush things out the door just for the sake of it. We have been listening & there is a bunch of new things coming in the next 6 weeks. But they will be released when they are ready.

Yea work it out! Don’t rush it. As much as I would love it to be released, I totally understand.

I’m liking Caffeinated and the full width-ness.

I’ve been getting tired of so many people hating on Woo for a “lack of design”. These new themes ought to shut them up. 😉

All looking good. You get the upcoming ecommerce theme right (which i’m sure you will) and you’ll do very well off it. There just aint a good solid stable one out there. I’ve tried loads and loads from stuff off themeforest to plugins like wp-ecommerce and non of them are stable enough. wp-ecommerce had potential, but its fundamentally broke on every level. You need good js / php skills to get it working right. So looking forward to your take at it.
