Store credit and gift cards for WooCommerce

Loyal customers come back because coming back is easy. Store Credit for WooCommerce gives each customer a balance to spend in your shop: a gift card they bought for a friend, credit you sent to say sorry for a late parcel, or a refund kept in store instead of returned to their card. They spend it across as many orders as it lasts, and you decide where it applies.

What you can do with store credit

• Sell gift cards. Create store credit products with preset amounts or let customers choose their own, within a minimum and maximum you set. Buyers can send the credit to someone else with a personal message.
• Send credit yourself. Send a store credit coupon by email to one customer or many at once, including shoppers without an account, as a reward, a goodwill gesture or credit instead of a cash refund.
• Let one coupon cover many orders. The balance carries over from order to order until it is spent or expires.
• Show customers what they have. Available credit appears in the cart and at checkout, including the block-based checkout, and on a Store credit page in My Account.
• Control where it applies. Limit credit to specific products or categories, exclude items or sale items, and choose whether it can cover shipping.
• Decide how it combines. Allow store credit alongside other coupons or on its own.
• Set expiry dates and remove a coupon automatically once its credit is used up.
• Match how your store handles tax. If you enter prices including tax, the credit amount can include tax too.
• Keep your books straight. The discount is spread across the order’s items, tax and shipping rather than taken off the total, and store credit used is included in WooCommerce REST API order data for accounting and ERP tools.
• Make it yours. Choose the coupon code format and edit the store credit emails like any other WooCommerce email.

Send store credit to customers by email

Turn a refund, a complaint or a thank-you into a reason to shop again. Send credit from your store admin, and each customer receives a unique code by email with any restrictions spelled out, ready to use at checkout.

Customers redeem their credit at checkout, and the discount comes off the order straight away.

How a store credit balance works

A customer has a $50 store credit coupon and places a $30 order. The coupon covers it, and $20 stays on the coupon for their next order, until it is spent or expires.

If an order costs more than the remaining credit, the customer pays the difference with any payment method at checkout.
