Hi, could you add a feature to track all of your components used to make a product? A coffee for example. You would want to hide nearly every component from the store and only have them in the back end. Lids, cups, beans, milk, syrups, etc. You just need to set up templates with the exact amounts that it takes to make a coffee and deduct those components whenever you do a new run to stock more of your product, or even better deduct all those components automatically whenever a coffee order is placed for example. All you would need is a different template for each size coffee in this example.
I’m currently using a software that was called shopventory and has now rebranded to “Thrive.” They attempt to do this but it’s complete garbage full of bugs and charge way too much damn money. I need a better solution that actually works. Seems like you could easily add this by just getting an account with them and copying them. Except make it actually work, and don’t have it riddled with bugs that make it impossible to use.
I don’t even understand how they could have these bugs with such simple calculations with AI to test your code nowadays. It’s pure laziness.
I really hope you copy them and just offer a way lower yearly/monthly fee. You could easily price them out of the market. There really are no good solutions for this, and there is such a huge need.
Please let me know if you could bang this out with the help of AI to get it right. I’d pay for it in a heartbeat and recommend it to everyone I know who also needs this.

Hi, I know this is slightly aged now, but did this go any further? I’m looking for exactly this also.
To expand on the requirement;
The product my customer sees in the store is a package, made up of 3 single products and 2 types of packaging. the individual products and packaging are not available to see/purchase so this should be visible in the back end only. This is essentially a bill of materials (BOM) concept, for this product.
When a person buys a product in the store, i need my inventory management to subtract 1 of each of the individual products and packaging items to help with replenishment.
Has this feature request progressed at all?
Thanks,
Phil
Hi,
apologies for the late response, but we wanted to make sure we understood the requirements and had a look at the program you were referring to.
To answer your question – yes, the bills of material is definitely a feature we want to include in our extension. We see this is a standard part of inventory management. Not all merchants need it, but for those who do, it should be an add-on you can simply activate if needed.
We do however have a number of other features in the pipeline that we’re working on, so I don’t want to promise an exact release date for this.
I will have to come back to you once have a clear estimation of the time required. We will add it to our backlog and get back to you as soon as we have more details.
