In 2024 this functionality must be provided for free as a basic feature as most e-commerce stores simply can’t work without tracking numbers. Keeping this functionality as a paid plugin stops other plugins from interacting with tracking information as there are multiple ways of tracking implementation (and this plugin offers only one possible way) and no plugin can take into account all this nuances. Also this makes cross-platform integration via Make (Integromat) or Zapier a pain when you dealing with tracking numbers as there are no standard functions for that because there’s no standard way to store tracking numbers in WC.

I would like to respectfully suggest considering the inclusion of this plugin as part of the WooCommerce core. Its functionality addresses a common use case for a large number of store owners and significantly enhances the overall WooCommerce experience. Making it part of the core would improve consistency, reduce the need for third-party dependencies, and help ensure long-term maintenance and compatibility for users. Thank you for considering this proposal.
This should be a core feature in order to stay competitive with Shopify. Clients are frustrated at all the extra individual costs vs. a bundled subscription of core features like the Shopify model.
