When a shop admin manually cancels an order (status = cancelled), WooCommerce only sends an email to the admin – not to the customer.
This is problematic in real-world use cases (like 3D printing), where an order cannot be fulfilled due to model issues or material constraints.
There should be a setting to also notify the customer with a customizable cancellation message, ideally including refund info.
Currently, there is no way to define “customer” as a recipient in the cancelled-order email template.

Hi there,
This feature has been included in WooCommerce 10.0. It now sends cancellation emails to customers as well.
You can find the option by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Emails.
