Intertronics already had a WooCommerce website up and running, but approached agency Electric Studio to freshen things up. With the chance to rebuild, Electric Studio introduced Elasticsearch for both site search and facet filtering functions, completely overhauling the user experience and web design.
The new design introduced a left column navigation which gives more flexibility and room to grow, and a faster route to the content for the users.
Using WooCommerce as a product catalogue on a site with no eCommerce functionality may initially seem like overkill. With a need for easy-to-use functionality, good search, solid categorization and filtering, the decision to stick with WooCommerce made perfect sense.
