An EU withdrawal button and one screen for every request

EU customers can usually change their mind within 14 days, a right known as the right of withdrawal or cooling-off period. NexumShop EU Withdrawal for WooCommerce adds a withdrawal button to their orders, shows them whether their order still qualifies, lets them file a request, and gives you the tools to decide it and keep a record of what happened.

  • Fewer requests that end in a refusal. Eligibility is checked before the form appears, using your window and the exemptions you enable.
  • Deadlines you can explain. The last day counts in full in your shop’s time zone, and a weekend last day moves to the next working day.
  • Your money stays under your control. The extension never creates a refund. You issue it with WooCommerce’s own button, and the request follows.
  • A record you can rely on. Every status change is added to the history, and a change made directly in the database is flagged when the request is opened.
  • Guests are covered. Customers without an account use a page inside your theme and receive a signed link by email.

What your customers get

Logged-in customers find a “Withdraw from the contract” button on their orders. Guests enter their order number and email on a page created at activation. Either way, they select items and quantities, review their request, and confirm it. They receive an acknowledgment email and can download a proof of submission.

What you get

  • A request list with status filters, a search by request or order ID, and a CSV export of all requests
  • Accept, accept line by line, ask for more information, or reject with a reason that is required
  • A notice above the list when requests have been pending too long
  • A downloadable PDF dossier for each request
  • Eleven exemption categories, all off until you enable them, assigned by product category or SKU
  • Personal data handled through the WordPress export and erasure tools
  • Interface and emails in English and French, so French-speaking shops and their customers can use it in French

How it works with the WooCommerce withdrawal form

WooCommerce 11.1 adds an optional form that takes a withdrawal request and sends an acknowledgment. It doesn’t check eligibility, record a decision, or produce a proof document. NexumShop EU Withdrawal covers those steps. The two run independently, and requests filed through the WooCommerce form don’t appear in this extension’s list, so we recommend offering your customers one of them.

Legal notice

This extension provides technical assistance with the withdrawal process. It does not replace legal advice and does not by itself guarantee the compliance of your business.

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Does it add an EU withdrawal button?

Yes. Logged-in customers find a "Withdraw from the contract" button on their orders, and guests use a withdrawal page inside your theme. Both lead to a form, a confirmation step, and an acknowledgment email. Whether your setup meets the rules in your country, including national rules based on Directive (EU) 2023/2673, is for you and your legal adviser to confirm.

Does it refund customers automatically?

No. It records the amount on the request. You issue the refund from the WooCommerce order, and the request is marked refunded when WooCommerce records it.

Which orders can be withdrawn?

Paid orders inside your window, except items covered by an exemption you enabled. Pending payment, on-hold, draft, canceled, and failed orders aren't eligible.

What happens if an order isn't marked completed?

Its deadline is estimated from the order date and your expected delivery time, and labeled as estimated until the order is completed.

Are public holidays taken into account?

No. Weekends move the last day automatically, but you need to handle public holidays manually.

Which languages are supported?

The interface and emails are available in English and French. Emails are sent in your store's language, not the language of the order.

Does it work with HPOS and checkout blocks?

Yes. Orders are read through the WooCommerce CRUD APIs only.

Does it help me comply with EU law?

It provides technical assistance, but it doesn't replace legal advice and doesn't by itself guarantee your compliance. You configure the policy and make every decision.

What happens to my data if I uninstall it?

It's kept by default. To remove it, turn off the keep-data setting before uninstalling.
