In the Subscription Extension they get an email before thr subscription ends and they can see thr subscription details on the My Account Page. Now what i propose is (which looks like a standard option) for an option just in case if any subscriber want to renew his subscription manually (e.g. may be he likes my service and want to extend the subscription right away for an year or two). Something like as we have an option on the Order Page to Reorder.
Hope that make sense.

Who would want a subscription to expire before it can be renewed? And it creates a new subscription if you ever resubscribe? Comon this has to be taken care of.
Still would love to see this implemented at some point as its standard functionality behavior for any web based subscription access service (i.e. Netflix)
We use Woo subscriptions for annual membership to our site. Many of the members want to renew their membership before it expires but this is impossible with the current set up of Woo subscriptions. Currently you cannot renew a subscription until it expires. When you think how everybody expects to pay for domain and hosting before the expiration date then surely you guys can create a way to pay before expiry and have the interval of the subscription extended accordingly.

Keep an eye on that one for progress. We will be implementing this in the future, but not in the near future so I can not provide an ETA as yet.

Any chance that handling of the automatic renewal scenario will be included too (essentially the ability to turn auto-renew On/Off)?

I use Netflix as an example of this where you may sign up for a $10 monthly subscription on Feb 1 so you can watch a show. After finishing the show in a week you cancel your subscription since there is no longer content that interests you. Then 2 weeks later Netflix adds more shows that interest you so you realize you should probably reactivate your subscription again since it will will take another monthly subscription period to watch all the content.
Netflix lets you keep access all of February even after canceling and when you reactivate your subscription it essentially just turns auto-renew back on, meaning you aren’t billed again until March 1. Woo Subscriptions lets you keep access all of February as well but if you decide to reactivate your subscription Feb 21 then you are immediately billed $10 and your subscription then runs Feb 21 to March 21 (users end up losing time they paid for).
Awesome that this will be in a future version! On one of the sites I manage we built a plugin to achieve this. It will still be great to have it in the core.
Simon Kelly – do you have this plugin available? We need to give our subscribers the ability to renew early as well. We are not using auto renewal, just manual renewal.
Any Update on this feature?
This feature is essential. Let us know when you add it so we can give you money.
Yes – this would be huge! We offer discounts to our customers for early renewals of their subscription.
If someone clicks on a URLCoupons link and purchases 1 or 2 additional years of the same subscription at the special rate, that should simply extend his next billing date by the amount of time purchased.
Please do this!! 🙂
