When using “Allow backorders → Allow, but notify customer”, WooCommerce always shows the default message “Available on backorder” on the product page.
This message does not provide enough information for customers (e.g. delivery time), which leads to confusion, reduced trust, and many repetitive support requests for store owners.
Suggested improvement
Allow store owners to define a custom backorder notice text that replaces the default message.
Examples:
“Pre-order item. Estimated delivery: 7–10 business days.”
“Delivery expected in March.”
The custom text should support WordPress i18n and WPML, so it can be translated for multilingual stores.
