Problem:
While there is a developer preview for MCP, store owners need a stable, user-friendly implementation of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) directly in WooCommerce core. Currently, connecting an AI agent (like Claude Desktop or custom agents) to manage store operations requires complex developer setups or beta plugins.
Solution:
I request that WooCommerce graduates the MCP integration from “Developer Preview” to a standard, supported feature in the core settings. This should include:
A simple “One-Click” setup to generate MCP config files for AI clients.
Granular permission controls (e.g., allow “Read Products” but block “Delete Orders”).
Why this matters:
This allows non-developers to use AI tools to manage their store (e.g., “Claude, check which products are low on stock and draft a reorder email”). It democratizes AI store management for all users.
