Woocommerce Subscriptions – Mixing Subscription and Normal variable products

It should be possible to mix subscription variations with normal ones. This is to allow customers to purchase a single item without the confusion of setting up a subscription.

I can set it to per day for only 1 day, but it still shows ‘for 1 day’ which is unnecessary, only allows adding a single item to cart and shows the start/end dates on the order page. This is incredibly confusing for the customer and makes the subscription extension extremely flawed. Is there any way to work around this?

It would be great if the ‘Variable Product’ and ‘Subscription Variable Product’ was merged into one, and store managers could tick a ‘Subscription’ checkbox to make it a subscription product. This is a much simpler approach and allows for mixed variations.

You can do this with the new, unsupported, beta, mini-extension. https://docs.woothemes.com/document/bundles/bundles-mini-extensions/#section-4

As Anonymous mentioned, this is now possible with the free Subscribe All the Things mini-extension: https://github.com/Prospress/woocommerce-subscribe-all-the-things

Please be aware, that is currently free, and therefore, we are not offering support on it yet. It should also be considered an “experimental” extension that is used on live sites only when you have paid in-house developers on hand to help with any issues.

We hope to eventually release it in a way that we can support it, but have decided to make it publicly available before then to get early feedback on it.

Yes it would be great if store owner could allow customers to purchase some products either as a one time purchase or as a subscription. Currently we need to create 2 different products to allow this.

Something like what Target.com offers – checkbox to select subscribe and then select frequency from a drop down.

This is extremely frustrating. All product-add-on extensions seem to associate with the sub. Want a one time product (like add batteries) that does not get renewed and is part of initial subscription. Best if we can just add a product in variation or group.
