Currently the Xero for WooCommerce plugin is optimised only for markets that have a single rate of VAT (or Sales Tax, or GST in Australia) – as the tax data is not passed to Xero from Woocommerce, and you therein apply it automatically in Xero (depending on the rate associated with your sales account).
However many markets have multiple VAT rates, meaning that in order to integrate WooCommerce & Xero, you need to go through EVERY sales transaction and apply the tax rate to EACH LINE ITEM!!! It renders the plugin almost useless in such markets (e.g. every country in the European Union).
Two ways of overcoming this, the proper way and the cheap and dirty way, I’d be happy with either just so that I don’t have to keep updating tax rate on EVERY line item of EVERY sale.
1) Proper way – pass line item tax data over to Xero
2) Dirty way – allow multiple sales accounts to be setup, and then link them to a tag, category, tax-rate, etc.
Thanks.

Agreed – i need this too. Has this been addressed?
I second that. Especially with MOSS coming in for 2015 in the EU. It would be great if the Xero plugin could pass through the 28 individual ‘Digital Goods’ class tax rates I’ve had to set up for B2C orders within the EU.
Luckily most of our orders come from outside the EU but within Xero itself I’ve had to set up, for example, a ‘MOSS Sweden 25%’ tax rate and apply that each time an order comes through from Sweden (and for the 27 other countries!) without a VAT number. See here for Xero recommendation http://help.xero.com/uk/Report_VATinXero$SetUpMoss
No doubt this would require some way of linking the tax rate I’ve got set up in WooCommerce for ‘Digital Goods’ in Sweden to my ‘MOSS Sweden 25%’ tax rate in Xero. Not sure how that could work?!
Thanks.
Has this been addressed? if we are selling locally and internationally can we use the xero integration?
