Discontinued Products Manager pour WooCommerce

par W7S
Every store eventually retires products, but deleting them throws away years of SEO value, breaks inbound links, and sends loyal customers to dead 404 pages. Discontinued Products Manager gives WooCommerce a dedicated "Discontinued" stock status that sits between "Out of Stock" and deletion: the product becomes non-purchasable, yet its page stays live and indexable.

Keep Customers Shopping

When a product is discontinued, customers don’t hit a dead end. The plugin displays a customizable grid of alternative products they can buy instead. Choose alternatives manually per product, or let the plugin suggest related products, upsells, cross-sells, or items from the same category.

Protect Your SEO

Discontinued product pages keep their URLs accessible, preserving backlinks and search rankings. Visibility settings hide them from shop listings and search results without returning 404 errors. For products with a clear replacement, enable 301 redirects to transfer SEO authority.

Automate the Lifecycle

Enable auto-discontinue per product or per variation, and the plugin automatically sets the status to « Discontinued » when stock reaches zero. No manual intervention needed. Combine with visibility controls to keep your shop clean as products reach end-of-life.

Fully Customizable Appearance

Adjust every visual element to match your store’s branding. Set badge text, colors, and position. Style the discontinued message box with custom background, text, and border colors. Add custom CSS for advanced adjustments. Override the alternatives grid template in your theme.

Foire aux questions

How is "Discontinued" different from "Out of Stock"?

"Out of Stock" tells customers a product is temporarily unavailable and may return, and it can still be backordered or restocked. "Discontinued" is a dedicated stock status for products you no longer sell at all: the item is made non-purchasable, displays a badge and an optional message, and shows alternative products, while its page stays online to preserve SEO value instead of being deleted.

Will discontinued product pages still be accessible to customers and search engines?

Yes. By default, discontinued product URLs stay live and return an HTTP 200 status, so backlinks and search rankings are preserved and visitors never hit a 404. You can optionally hide discontinued products from shop listings, search results, widgets, and XML sitemaps while keeping the direct URL accessible, or enable a 301 redirect to a replacement product when you prefer to consolidate SEO authority.

Can products be marked as discontinued automatically?

Yes. Enable auto-discontinue on a stock-managed product (or per variation) and the plugin automatically switches its status to "Discontinued" the moment stock reaches zero, instead of leaving it as "Out of Stock". You can also mark products manually from the product editor, in bulk from the products list, or via the REST API.

Where do the alternative product suggestions come from?

You can hand-pick specific alternatives for each product, or let the plugin source them automatically from related products, upsells, cross-sells, or the same category, with a configurable fallback when no manual alternatives are set. You control how many products appear, the number of grid columns, and the section heading, and the grid template can be overridden in your theme.

Is it compatible with my SEO plugin and WooCommerce HPOS?

Yes. Sitemap exclusion works automatically with WordPress core sitemaps, Yoast SEO, Rank Math, and SEOPress when present, but none are required. The plugin is fully compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) and Cart/Checkout Blocks, and it is completely translation-ready.
