Order Edit Logger records every order edit made in your WooCommerce admin: who edited it, when, and exactly which fields changed — status, billing, shipping, totals, customer note, and line items — with old and new values side by side.

Once activated, tracking starts immediately with no setup required. Edit history appears on each order’s detail page, in a Last Edited column on the orders list, on a bulk WooCommerce → Edit History page, and in a dashboard widget. You can also enable email notifications when orders are edited and export edit history to CSV for audit reports.

The plugin is fully compatible with both High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) and legacy storage, requires no custom database tables, and is translation-ready (Greek included).

Key features

  • Field-level change tracking — see exactly which fields changed, with old and new values side by side.
  • “Last Edited” column on the orders list — instant visibility of who handled each order and when.
  • Bulk Edit History page under WooCommerce → Edit History, filterable by user.
  • Dashboard widget showing the 10 most recent edits site-wide.
  • Email notifications with configurable recipients, status-change-only filtering, and 60-second throttling.
  • CSV export — per-order or bulk, for audit and compliance reporting.
  • Configurable user roles — choose which roles trigger tracking.
  • Optional REST API and cron tracking for orders edited by external integrations or scheduled jobs.
  • HPOS + legacy — works with both order storage backends.
  • No custom database tables — uses WooCommerce metadata API, portable with any backup or migration tool.
  • Translation-ready — Greek translation included; .pot file in /languages/.

Who is it for?

  • Multi-admin stores that need accountability across the team.
  • Stores with audit / compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO, internal audit).
  • Dispute resolution and customer service — trace exactly what changed before issuing a refund or replacement.
  • Agencies and developers managing client stores who need a drop-in audit log without custom tables.

Why Order Edit Logger?

  • WooCommerce-native — built specifically for orders, not a generic activity log.
  • Field-level diffs — shows old → new values, not just “an edit happened”.
  • Zero-config — tracking starts immediately on activation; settings are optional.
  • Lightweight — no custom database tables, no custom cron, no heavyweight dependencies.
  • Notifications built-in — no need for a separate email plugin.

Demo accounts (each demo account uses its username as the password):

  • demo1 / demo1 — Shop Manager
  • demo2 / demo2 — Shop Manager
  • demo3 / demo3 — Shop Manager
  • demo4 / demo4 — Shop Manager

Suggested demo flow:

  1. Log in with any demo account (e.g. demo1 / demo1).
  2. Go to WooCommerce → Orders, open any order, change a few fields (status, billing address, customer note), click Update.
  3. Scroll to the Order Edit History section under the billing address — see your edit recorded with field-level diffs.
  4. Log out and back in as a different demo user (e.g. demo2), make another edit on the same order, and watch the history grow.
  5. Visit WooCommerce → Edit History to see all edits across all orders, filterable by user.
  6. Visit WooCommerce → Settings → Order Edit Logger to see the three settings tabs (General, Notifications, Advanced).
  7. Open the WordPress dashboard to see the Recent Order Edits widget.

Domande più comuni

Does it work with HPOS (High-Performance Order Storage)?

Yes — fully compatible with both HPOS and the legacy post-based order storage. The plugin auto-detects which is in use; no configuration needed.

Will it slow down my store?

No. Tracking only runs when an order is updated (not on page loads), uses WooCommerce's metadata API instead of custom database tables, and includes recursion protection to avoid duplicate logging.

What fields are tracked, and can I configure which ones?

Order status, billing address (all fields), shipping address (all fields), order totals, customer note, and line item changes (added, removed, quantity/price changes). Choose which groups to track in WooCommerce → Settings → Order Edit Logger → General.
