Get paid in person with the WisePad 3 card reader

  1. Add the WisePad 3 card reader to your cart and check out.
  2. Download, install and activate the Woo Mobile App on your iOS or Android device. If you already have the Woo Mobile App installed on your device, be sure it is updated to at least version 9.3.
  3. If you don’t have WooPayments yet, you will also need to install and activate the WooPayments extension and follow the instructions for creating a new WooPayments account.
  4. Once your WisePad 3 card reader arrives, follow the instructions in our Quick Start Guide to set it up and check out our documentation for additional support.
  5. That’s it! Your WisePad 3 is ready to be configured as a payment method in your store and start collecting payments.
  6. There are three ways to collect payment:
    • Use the mobile app to create a quick order so your inventory syncs to your online store. Click on the Orders tab in your mobile app and the ‘+’ button, then click on “Create order” to start a new manual order.
    • For orders placed online for pickup in person, find the specific order in the Woo Mobile App and then click on ‘Collect Payment’.
    • To collect quick payments, without inventory adjustment, click on the Orders tab in your mobile app and the ‘+’ button to process a fast payment. Perfect for instances when you need to collect payments quickly, such as at trade shows or craft fairs.
  7. Then tap or insert the customer’s card – or use a digital wallet, like Apple Pay – to collect their payment. You’ll be able to print or even email a receipt from the Woo Mobile App and view details of this transaction in your WooCommerce dashboard.

Important: The WisePad 3 card reader is currently only available in Canada and the United Kingdom (U.K.). In order to utilize the reader, you will need to have both WooPayments and the Woo Mobile App set up and activated.
