I would love to offer my customers the option of a one-time payment or 3 installment payments.
The current workaround of grouping a subscription and product together has a serious flaw in that you cannot use a variable product in grouped products.

Its not possible with suggested plugin above. It only adds the subscriptions to variable product type, however then other plugins does not work correctly that are compatible with subscriptions. For example when someone place subscription order from variable product type ( this feature added by above suggested plugin by woo ) then customer cannot upgrade / downgrade subscription from my account. Instead it does create new order instead of updating existing once.
Subscribe to all things does not accomplish the “simple” task of allowing a product variation (from variable product) to be either one-time purchase or subscription as Subscriptio plugin does. This is a MUST for any serious ecommerce platform and an option expected by end users (see Amazon, Shopify, etc). Users are accustomed to having a choice of “one-time purchase” or “subscribe & save”. IMHO this should be part of the core WC Subscription extension.
