Make the date an actual date/time format instead of whatever serialized format it exists in now.

Also, add a lead time field in addition to the ‘available by’ field. Sometimes we’ll have products for sale which we have no intention of stocking but have reliable fulfillment times (1 week, 7-10 business days, etc). Instead of forcing me to choose a hard date, create an additional ‘lead time’ variable allowing me to specify how many days or weeks it will take for me to acquire an item for sale i.e. special orders.

Then customers will know when they purchase the item it will be available to ship by a constant number of days from whenever their purchase date is. If I set an item’s lead time to 2 weeks, it says that way indefinitely until I change it.
