Accepting payments is easy with Square. Clear rates, fast deposits (1-2 business days). Sell online and in person, and sync all payments, items and inventory.
I definitely agree, also whether image syncs as Square does not like .webp
I have manually coded to switch off syncing a few things like image and description, but would be nice to have as options.
This is 100% needed as it is fundamental that we have products in multiple categories on the website, but whenever a product is changed, be it the inventory or description in Square as with having a physical shop, Square is set to the SOR, on the next sync, the secondary categories on the website are dropped and have to be put back in manually.
A check box that allows you to ignore categories on sync would be a great addition.
Likewise, adding the same for the description allowing it to be ignored on sync would also be a fantastic addition as we’d love to have more in-depth product descriptions on the website but we’re currently limited with what we can do in Square.
This is a much needed feature! If anyone knows of any work around to at least ignore categories from syncing until this feature is added please let me know. Thanks!
If we had this option, Square wouldn’t be a nightmare to use. We wouldn’t have to double handle everything, e.g. sync, then hide certain products by making them private and hidden from shop and search. I have multiple clients looking to move away from Square because this is still not an option.
This would be an amazing addition. I am encountering limitations between the Square description field vs. Woo (more powerful). I would love to be able to toggle off the description field on updates. Big “yes” vote from me.
Would like to have this option when WooCommerce is the system of record also. I don’t want to send all my data over to Square. Just the name, price, inventory, and category. My descriptions (which I use for customer user experience and SEO) are far too long for Square. Even choosing short description only would be helpful.
This! It’s such a headache right now. If nothing else, I wish that the Square description was connected to the WooCommerce short product description because we can’t add any formatting in Square product descriptions and I use the WooCommerce long product descriptions for more technical information.
In 2022 this is absolutely basic stuff. If you are running any sort of specific SEO campaign for your products this is absolutely fatal as the plugin just WIPES all your content (if Square is the system of record).
Has the ability to choose what is synced from Square to Woocommerce been added? I can’t seem to figure out how to stop syncing the description from Square.
Inventory stock should be a separate option to product details (name, price, description, category etc.) to sync, as this is the most important item to sync as categories and other stuff don’t sync well on anything but the most basic setup
On my POS every variation of a product is preceded with the name of the product which is repetitive and makes it impossible to select the correct variation if checking out a client from the iPhone square app. The current way the plugin exports the names of variations to square inventory is:
%ProductName% – %VariationName&
This is wrong/redundant as it should be only the variation name.
Woo is currently set up to be the system of record.
Yes! I don’t understand how so many people are supposedly functioning with using Square and WooCommerce together without this ability to pick what parts sync. Everyone must have very small and simple websites, unlike ours. The categories and descriptions are the main to area that we CAN NOT have sync because it makes no sense as our POS Square has different information in it than what we need our website to have. Please others chime in if you’d like this syncing option too.
We and our partners process your personal data (such as browsing data, IP Addresses, cookie information, and other unique identifiers) based on your consent and/or our legitimate interest to optimize our website, marketing activities, and your user experience.

This is a must to make “Square as SOR” usable !

Absolutely crucial. Make this a priority!

Yes, please. Every time I update WooCommerce->Square->Update, it resets all of my subcategories. This is a PITA.
