Hi, I’m a Solution Architect at WooCommerce and I was working with a WooCommerce customer on a pre order demo for their products. They sell figurines and action figures online via WooCommerce. The customer told me that in California and in Georgia, it is illegal to charge sales tax “up front” for pre orders. In every other state though, it is legal to charge taxes up front for pre orders. However, in those 2 states mentioned, Sales tax must be charged upon release of the product instead. Their online sales for pre orders are mostly all out of California. They also want to charge shipping for pre orders “upon release” instead of “up front” as well. Could this potentially become a new feature for the Pre Orders plugin to charge sales taxes and shipping for pre orders “upon release” instead of “up front”? Feel free to contact me in slack or email me for further discussion on this if needed. Thanks in advance!
