My brand has been a loyal user of WooCommerce and WP since its inception. However, as our social media presence has grown, particularly on YouTube, I was surprised to see WooCommerce listed among the connected apps even a year after YouTube launched its shopping feature.
After seeing the thousands of WooCommerce users expressing their concerns in the comments section, I’m unsure when WooCommerce will respond. Sadly, I’ve seen a significant number of WooCommerce users express their intention to migrate to Shopify, which I suspect is unwelcome given the two major e-commerce platforms. If WooCommerce doesn’t respond proactively, I suspect even more users will migrate to Shopify.
Hi. We run WooCommerce at scale and a large YouTube channel. YouTube’s Shopping shelf supports multiple platforms, but not Woo. The workaround is ugly: run a second Shopify store just to get the shelf, or accept lost sales. We already push tens of thousands of free clicks per month from Merchant Center via Google for WooCommerce, but not to our core audience on our own channel. That hurts. Every day without native YouTube Shopping integration costs us, and makes Woo look second‑tier. Please prioritize or publish an ETA. Happy to beta.
We have needed this feature for a long time, and we urge WooCommerce to implement it as soon as possible—ideally within a month.
This situation is driving us towards Shopify. Duplicating the entire process is frustrating and not worth the effort, and I have noticed that many businesses are considering making the switch to Shopify.
Please continue to support us with WooCommerce. We would like a YouTube direct link that allows for customization, such as selecting categories or products, creating playlists, showcasing specific videos, random selection, or displaying a few products from various categories. It would be great if these could highlight current sales and direct customers to our WooCommerce store for checkout.
We hope to hear from you soon! At the very least, please announce the estimated time of arrival in the next couple of days.
I don’t understand why such essential features would take years to add and wonder what the decision making people are thinking by ignoring them! people are already moving away from woocommerce for this and yet not even a single word from their side!
This has been wanted for a very long time.. and there is radio silence from Woo.. again..
They could easily be in contact with Google with this like the other platforms (which is a growing list, most people have not even heard of before) yet total silence from this one..
This will drive us to Shopify too, which is more than disappointing having been loyal users of both WordPress and WooCommerce since they launched. YouTube is where ALL of our business starts, and being forced to run duplicate stores is frustrating to say the least.
I want to create my store on Woo but due to the lack of this feature, I am confused to choose between Woo or Shopify. Can you tell us if you have any plans to provide a solution soon?
It would be amazing if this feature will be available, currently I am sending off my subscribers to Fourthwall, but I would much rather send them to my website to check out in my web shop!
I’m a developer that is interested in fixing this issue but I do not have a monetized Youtube channel. If you are interested in helping me get in touch with a Youtube Partner Manager, to address this, please reach out to woocommerce@torvo.com.au
I totally agree. I think a lot of us are seriously considering leaving WordPress and Woocommerce because our main funnel is youtube. As I’ve read it’s both sides saying the other one has to act. Like Woo saying google has zo work on this. And Google says Woo has to do the work.
It’s about the businesses of quite a lot of us. Not integrating it while the main opponent has been doing so for months is the worst possible way to keep a customer.
This is so overdue. I have 5 stores. I can get them on TikTok before YouTube? My major clients don’t bother with TikTok. They have 50-70k followers and that’s on facebook and youtube. I need this like yesterday or I am going to have to open up a shopify so I don’t lose my client. I have sold your products to all of them and now I am on the hook. Please prioritize this. I will come back with an update. Let’s hope they stick it out a bit longer. My loyalties have to go with my client over product. 🥺😔

Unfortunately it seems migrating to Shopify is the only solution right now

I really don’t want to change websites but connecting to YouTube is a big deal for my business. I’m sure I’m not alone here.

echoing what everybody else here has said – this is really creating a barrier to my business. need this feature urgently!
This is a mission critical feature for a lot of us, I won’t wait forever.
I was also bummed to see that we cannot yet integrate with YT shop. This may cause us to switch to Shopify.
Same issue, one of my client wants to integrate with YouTube shop as he is a youtube creator. Any update on the timelines on this.
We have clients wanting to expand into using YouTube shopping. As the channel and new podcast take off, we will have to find a solution for them.
We’d like to not have to build an additional Shopify store to support their growth.
Any updates on this feature would be greatly appreciated.
