Ability to remove “Payments” from Dashboard

Prior to WooCommerce 9.4.1 it was possible to remove the “Payments” menu from the dashboard. Now, it’s not. We need a way to remove this from the dashboard with minimal effort. Here’s why:

Some clients who aren’t daily users of woocommerce are going to get confused by this and this is going to cause issues for me and for them. Some will think, ok, they moved payments to this new section, or “Hmmm. I wonder what this is, let me click on it to find out.” And then they set up WooPayments when we already are using Stripe or another payment processor. I can see so many ways this could go wrong unintentionally. Some of my clients (I am thinking of several non-profits I work with where their staff and board members are not very web savvy that I am concerned about). Now I will need to advise all of them about this.

We’ve tried using several different code snippets to hide this without success. It’s unnecessary and I could also see it being real confusing to a client who is making their own updates after we initially set everything up.

Yes, I had multiple clients reach out the very day that started showing up. So they’ve took away the dismiss link / ability now?!

Totally agree. As an agency, we set up turn-key WooCommerce designed stores to be user-friendly for our clients. They really don’t need the unnecessary clutter of a menu item that only serves to confuse them—making them think they’ll see payments received when in reality, they’re just clicking into a sales pitch for WooPayments. Thanks, but no thanks!
