My brand has been a loyal user of WooCommerce and WP since its inception. However, as our social media presence has grown, particularly on YouTube, I was surprised to see WooCommerce listed among the connected apps even a year after YouTube launched its shopping feature.
After seeing the thousands of WooCommerce users expressing their concerns in the comments section, I’m unsure when WooCommerce will respond. Sadly, I’ve seen a significant number of WooCommerce users express their intention to migrate to Shopify, which I suspect is unwelcome given the two major e-commerce platforms. If WooCommerce doesn’t respond proactively, I suspect even more users will migrate to Shopify.

FYI: You can already connect your Woocommerce Store to Youtube Shopping – I did it myself today. I don’t see the need for this feature request. Just reach out to Youtube Support. You need to set up Google Analytics 4 for your store (with ecommerce analytics) and connect that with your Google Merchant Center Account, auto-tagging must be enabled. You can do that in Google Merchant Center under “Setup of key events”. Then provide Youtube Support with your Merchant Center ID and your Youtube Channel ID and ask them to connect Youtube Studio with your Google Merchant Center. Youtube is familiar with the issue, they had a very helpful step-by-step PDF on connecting both accounts (if you have a shop system like Woocommerce that is not officially supported). Of course, you must be admitted to the Youtube Partner program. Certainly no need to switch to Shopify or set up a second Shopify account just for Youtube shopping.
