‘+1 for this feature. Any updates as to when it will be available? Considering that sensei 1.30 was released a few days back, I hope this feature request won’t take a month. I can’t wait. Thanks
I need this for the cpe courses or I can’t use the plugin – have to have it – what if they have to complete a lesson to advance to the next one and the final lesson offers a certificate they can download? At least if you can give us a hack while you figure it out?
I’m in the same situation as many others; we need this feature in order to launch the training site. A rough estimate of when it will be implemented would be much appreciated!
Allowing students to print out a certificate of completion is critical to the learning website I am building for a client. I need to be able to add different fields to the certificate and am looking forward to hearing more about this. Thanks for listening!
‘+1. I would have bought this seconds ago if you had this feature.
Please add some custom field options to display user name on the certificate, date of certification, etc. Other options should include ability to upload custom artwork, ability to add unique serial numbers onto certificate (with serial number validation page for certificate authenticity), optional Download or Email PDF certificate for user.
A static version of the final certificate should then be added to the student’s dashboard for later retrieval. This is helpful it they lose their copy.
I agree with other commenters that customization of the certificate is key. For some of us, our certifying organizations require certain language, dates, and information to be in the certificate. Sometimes the language is quite voluminous.
Generation of PDF is also a must. Students in my field are required to maintain copies of certificates in order to document to licensing boards that they have completed the required coursework.
Can you create a shortcode that allows you to output a dynamically created certificate on any page from a template that could be customized? You could then have a function in place to output the certificate as a .pdf for printing, while allowing your queue of certificates to be displayed on your “My Courses” page under the “Completed Courses” tab, as well as in a list format via a sidebar widget.
Really vital, something you can control the header and footer of like in woocommerce receipts for example – but it really needs to be downloadable or printable. Like others I feel a PDF is a good choice here also. Look forward to this.
The lack of a certificate is also a deal killer for our organization (as well as no support for launching, embedding or tracking TIN CAN or SCORM courses). I agree with everyone else, must be a PDF with dynamic fields that pulls data from the course and the user. Then in the account or profile for each user they would have a repository of certs and completions.
Really hope you guys can get this going in the next 1-2 months!
Can someone please provide an answer on when this feature is expected to be released.
Is it weeks/months or years away, from our clients perpsective its imparative that the system we’re quoting for can output a certificate at the end of a course.
This is critical for me too. I like Sensei because I feel it has more support than a competing product, but that product already has pdf certificates. I’ll be making my decision in the next week or so and would like the timeline for this feature.
I actually had to code in pdf generation to another quiz plugin I’m using on one of my sites. Luckily, that plugin outputted an html certificate so I just had to glue that to a PHP pdf library.
We’ve developed a plugin since Sensei doesn’t support this feature (yet). If anyone needs something like this urgently, you can find me online or contact me at stuart{}waqastudios.com
If you provide an option for a unique certification number on the certificate, please allow the option through short code to verify or validate if the certificate is still valid on the front end. Guests will be able to verify that a certificate is in fact valid. Dashboard should have option to set expiration dates (i.e. ___ months or ___ weeks) for certificates, whereas if an expired certificate is checked, it will show as “expired” or “valid” or “custom”.
Good news everybody. I reached out to support on the status of this update and received the following reply:
“Certificates will be included within v1.4.0 of the plugin which will be released later this month and is currently in it’s testing stage at the moment.”
Hi Matty, thanks for the response and taking action on this. I hope (fingers crossed) the extension will be a free add-on for people who invested in Sensei since a certificate of completion is pretty customary IMHO with any kind of testing platform, one would think. However, if you guys must charge a reasonable fee, I hope the features are very rich and there is proper documentation/support to justify another added cost.
Any updates on this?

I second that. Can’t really tell you how much we (i.e. our client) need it!

Definitely need this.
were really dissapointed to find out that this obvious function is not implemented yet
this would be great

This looks promising… http://www.senseipdfcertificates.com 🙂

CAN’T WAIT!
Hi Ed,
I’d like to clarify that quote, briefly.
Certificates will be an extension on top of Sensei, and not included directly within Sensei 1.4.0.
We are working on the functionality though… stay tuned! 🙂
Thanks and regards,
Matty.
