Ed, I highly doubt this will be a free add-on. While I understand that the development of such a feature takes a lot of time, generally Woo Themes charge above-reasonable prices for extensions (compared to Code Canyon). One example is the “Product Bundles” extension which has very limited functionality, but costs $49. There’s also an extension that generates PDF invoices and costs $79, so I definitely do not expect this certificate add-on to cost less than $79.
I spent money on Sensei many months back, hoping to have course completion certificates, like LearnDash, a legitimate competitor to Sensei (which I also purchased). It would not make any sense for me to purchase a Sensei extension for printing certificates. This should be a free extension for license owners of Sensei.
Hi, I also need this functionality in sensei. Other way would be to extract information of users who completed courses from the database and merge a pdf with these data. But that would be hard coding work and surely not a secure way..
3 points:
1. We need to have automated certificates
2. If we don’t have automated certificates, then we need to receive email confirmation a test has been completed so that we can send one out ourselves?
3. The “Mark course as complete” button needs to be disabled otherwise users can just skip to the end and get a Certificate?
I need this function too. I would like it to take information from perhaps a registration form, and insert certain fields into a certificate template, and print it when the student successfully completes the quiz.
Any idea when you might have a certificate plugin or feature added? I need an automated certificate to complete my site…is there a plug in that i can use in the meantime?
Could someone from Woo please confirm what’s planned next? If this is going to take a long time (i.e. into 2014) then my company will need to have something developed. I’m hoping for something similar to what LearnDash uses – a PDF template that is “overwritten” with a number of fields you can choose from such as course name, first name and last name and the date. I have the template ready, just need to have it automated rather than do it manually.
Whilst you’re reviewing this – and I hope this comes soon – can you consider implementing a checkbox that says that the user confirms that their name is correct or that they will need to change their details in the account before continuing or something. Several users sign up with calling names, or some even with fake names, and these would appear on the certificate automatically then I presume. Unless you allow the user to confirm the name they want on the certificate, that might be a good option too. Thanks.
Incorporating this certificate option is something that I am extremely interested in. This would help my decision on whether to purchase Sensei or not.
ability for students to print a certificate

When WP- courseware is offering this bundled, I would expect basic functionality to be there for Sensei too without having to pay extra.

We added a print screen button on the course page, but we need an actual certificate type view that the customer can print with their name inserted.

What is the forecast for launch this extension?
Any more updates on when this will be available please?

I’m interested as well. Could use this feature sooner rather than later. 🙂

This is planned for our 2013 roadmap. 🙂

Tanks Matty. Where can we view the roadmap for Sensei?
While we don’t currently have a public roadmap, that’s definitely a good idea and something we’ll look into again soonest. 🙂
So…any updates regarding when certificates will be available?
