Allow Email Template Customizations Regardless of Permissions
Some hosting platforms may use theme folders that are symlinked or read-only. In these cases, the “Copy file to theme” or “Delete template file” button is not available. Even if the theme folder is writable, the templates can be overwritten when the theme is updated. A possible solution would be to use a child theme but it might be a good idea to consider an alternative method for storing the email template files outside of the theme’s folder.
