Add Variable – Order product category

Right now the variable order.items only pulls in the titles. It would be great if we can extend this with the category name as well.

Roel Lamboo: Thanks for the clarification!
In this case, I think your best option would be to have a developer customize the "Cart Table" product template by overriding it in your theme. There are docs on that here: https://automatewoo.com/docs/email/product-display-templates/

Dan Bitzer: Hey Dan, Here’s a screenshot of one of the e-mails we’d like to display the product category in. Hope this makes it clearer!

  3. Dan Bitzer says:

Roel Lamboo: So would you like to display all product categories from the products in the order as a list?
Could you let me know exactly how you’d like the categories to appear in the email as that will affect which solution would be best?

  4. Roel Lamboo says:

Dan Bitzer: That’s correct Dan! Trying to display the category name linked to the products in an order. Tried achieving this through the order.meta variable unsuccessfully. Is this perhaps achievable with a custom variable or am I missing something?

  5. Dan Bitzer says:

Thanks for the suggestion Roel Lamboo! Are you looking to display the product categories in a specific "order.items" template? E.g. are you using the "Order Table" template?
