Improve SMS deliverability by adding region selector to billing phone field
Adding a region selector would eliminate the guesswork that is currently required to determine the country code for phone numbers that are supplied in a without a country code.
The region selector could be enabled via an plugin option and be disabled by default.

I understand your question and pain personally, however this feature is really far outside of Automate Woo features…
I suggest you use a properly checkout page plugin, like https://www.checkoutwc.com/?ref=168
They have the phone number formatting feature you’re referring to, it has a automatic country detection and storing of properly formatted phone numbers.
