It would be so useful to have a booking calendar plugin that can be used on any theme. You’re already halfway there with Diner’s reservation bookings. It would be great to see something that can be used either for reservations (hotel, restaurant), or service bookings (consulting, spa)
There are a few available plugins like this for WordPress, but I haven’t found one that is particularly good. The Woo team could definitely build a superior plugin.

We’ve planned out the MVP spec and are currently working on phase 1. While the duration has been quite some time (as you mentioned, a year and roughly 5-6 months), we’ve gone through several iterations to arrive at where we’re at today.
We’re excited for this project and have gained a ton from our explorations, which we’re filtering back into the plugin.
We’re certainly looking forward to sharing this plugin with everyone. 🙂

When building ActivityKauai.com, a tour booking agency for the island of Kaua’i, Hawai’i, we hit a major road block in our progress. Due to our specific needs, the stock woocommerce system did not have the functionality our business required. We had no way to finalize guest reservation time and date. After this fully integrated plugin was built all our needs were taken care of. This plug-in works awesome!

Can I use the plugin for a service like booking hotel rooms?
Currently the plugin is only available for service bookings like doctors, massage therapists, salons, etc. It cannot be used for booking services spanning multiple days like hotel rooms
‘@Uddhava: I feel including that information twice on the plugin page is more than enough. The so-called ‘commercial’ is an information to hundreds of people looking for the booking plugin. So including only the most important information is sufficient.

Will this extension be able to handle deposits? I need it to sell tours and each trip has a few predefined start dates. I would need to have a deposit option for each start date. The remaining balance would be due 60 days prior to start of trip. I’m really looking forward to this, hopefully it will be out this month?

Will this plugin support seasonal rates? Also can you create packages that use specific or selectable rooms and then of course use that availability?
Also forgot to add, if you need beta testers.. I have many hotel & b&b clients so would have some good real world insight to add.
What about clients who sell Training Courses (Not online with a quiz) its a very basic need for the user to click on “Book Now” and be able to pick a date for which course they would like!!!! Im absolutely baffled as to why nobody seems to think this is not an absolute must????
i could surely use a datepicker for packages i sell. Clients can choose courses/activities and i need to know which dates they want to follow them.
Considering the fact that my clients have 1 or two weeks in the region, dates are very important
We make the client a proposal but if he/she could input some dates already, this would simplify my life.
