Composite Product image when selecting certain configurations

Allow the main product image to change based on selections in the composite product. The main image would need to have multiple layers that are switched out based on ones selection. So if the store was selling the a car, the main product car image would change if a different color was selected. This would be simialr to a variable product but with more control.

    Hey all,

Since this request is getting a couple of more votes recently, I wanted to re-iterate that this feature is now available with the free Composite Products: Conditional Images mini-extension. Read more at https://somewherewarm.com/composite-products-conditional-images-mini-extension/

‘+1 WooCommerce Support told me to +1 this as I sent them a support ticket to add this feature. Additionally, if you could create it like Visual Products Configurator, that would be amazing. They use image “layers” using transparent PNG so the items’ colors can change on the fly when you select the different parts.

    Important:

    1. Composite Products 4.1+ is required.
    2. The mini-extension only works with themes that declare support for the ‘wc-product-gallery-slider’ feature.

I think this is a brilliant idea and should be looked at for following updates.

Basing this off your skateboard demo, the idea would be that for a product builder, you start off with a base image of the first options. Then as you add the different product add-ons, the image would change and add in the different option you have selected. That way, this gives the customer / buyer the idea of how there product was to look upon selecting different variations.
