FedEx Shipping Method for WooCommerce

We’re using the FedEx Shipping Method plugin for our store which frequently ships Dangerous Goods (DG). While we have certification and authorization from FedEx to ship these goods, we realized that the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping plugin does not currently offer a way to indicate a shipment as ‘DG’ and reflect the associated shipping fees.

The FedEx API has a flag for such shipments – “DANGEROUS_GOODS_SHIPPERS_DECLARATION” which is currently not integrated into the WooCommerce FedEx Shipping Plugin. The documentation is here: https://developer.fedex.com/api/en-ag/catalog/ship/docs.html

Integrating this flag into the plugin will allow us and other merchants dealing in DG to get accurate rates for DG shipments without resorting to complex handling fee calculations. This would enhance the overall shipping experience for merchants and customers alike.
