Offset {availability_date} displayed to customers

It would be great if it was possible to offset the availability date displayed to customers. For example, we sell books and we cannot send a book to a customer before it’s been officially released/published. We’ve had quite a few customers complaining that they didn’t receive their books on the release date, but a few days later. If we could make Pre-Orders show the {availability_date} as one or two days later than the actual availability date, then the book would be with the customer on the date mentioned and not a few days later. Hope that makes sense! We’ve tried to explain to customers that we send the books on the displayed date, but most people don’t read these things and just expect to receive their order on the mentioned date… Hope to see this function added! Thanks!

    Hi,

That’s a smart workaround for a real expectation-management problem — customers naturally assume “availability date” means “in my hands that day,” not “we ship it that day.” Displaying a slightly later date buys the shipping buffer without having to explain it every time.

Smart Pre-Order Manager for WooCommerce lets you offset the displayed availability date, so customers see a date that already accounts for shipping/dispatch time rather than the exact release date.

Happy to help if you have questions about setting it up.
