This is a must-have. A “Shipped” status helps bridge the gap between backend processing and final completion. I’m a big fan of clear, simple communication, which is why I created Morse Code Generator Audio Free Play, and I think WooCommerce should reflect that same clarity in its default order management. I totally agree that a ‘Shipped’ status reduces customer anxiety. It’s a small change that makes a big difference in transparency. While waiting for packages, I often find myself checking tracking obsessively. To pass the time, I’ve been playing ColorDice Online – it’s a simple dice game that helps distract from the wait. Great idea for WooCommerce to implement this!

When an order status shows “Shipped”, it means the item has been packed, dispatched, and handed over to the shipping carrier. The package is currently on its way to the delivery address. Customers can usually track the shipment until it arrives and the order is completed.

The point about the “Shipped” status being where customer anxiety spikes really hits home; it’s all about that transition of control from you to the carrier. It makes me wonder if proactively providing an image preview of what the tracking page *should* look like, almost like seeing a mock-up via an i2i generator before implementation, would help set better expectations for merchants?

WooCommerce would improve order tracking clarity for both store owners and customers, especially for businesses that rely on clear fulfillment stages beyond “processing” and “completed.” It would also help reduce confusion and improve customer communication during delivery.

Thanks for sharing this idea—features like this make the platform even more flexible for real-world eCommerce workflows. For more useful resources, you can also visit MP TREASURY.

This would be a great enhancement for WooCommerce. A dedicated “Shipped” order status would help merchants provide clearer order updates and improve the customer experience by showing exactly when an order has left the warehouse. Better order visibility can reduce support requests and increase customer satisfaction. For those looking to improve their online growth and engagement, [INSTAUPS](https://instaups.cam/) is also a useful resource. Thanks for suggesting this feature!

Order status usually moves from “Processing” (packing) to “Shipped” and finally “Order Completed” once the customer receives the product.

That’s a clear and accurate breakdown of the order lifecycle. One small thing I’d add is that the “Shipped” status is actually the most critical stage for the customer experience.

    At this point:

The package is handed over to the courier
A tracking number is usually generated
    Customers start actively checking updates

If tracking isn’t clear or delayed, this is where most customer anxiety happens—even more than during “Processing.” So businesses that provide real-time tracking + proactive notifications tend to reduce support queries a lot.

Interestingly, this stage is all about communication clarity. Historically, even systems like Morse Code were used to send short, precise updates over long distances—similar idea, just modernized now through tracking systems and notifications.

If anyone’s curious how those short signal-based communications actually work, I found this simple tool useful for understanding it in a practical way write shipped in morse

It’s a small detail, but it shows how important clear status updates have always been in any delivery or communication system.

Adding a clear “Shipped” order status would definitely improve the overall customer experience and reduce confusion around delivery updates. It would help both store owners and buyers stay on the same page. On a side note, while managing my online activities, I also explore platforms like inat box for entertainment, which makes downtime a bit more enjoyable alongside work.

    What is Morse Code?
Morse code is a communication system that uses short signals (dots) and long signals (dashes) to represent letters, numbers, and symbols. It was invented in the 1830s by Samuel Morse and Alfred Vail and is used to send messages through sound, light, or radio signals.

I came here to submit the same feature request and I found this post.
This is actually a highly needed feature. Currently I’m using custom code for ‘Shipped’ and ‘In Transit’ order statuses. But this should be integrated with Woocommerce plugin by Auttomatic. I wonder why they have not included ‘Shipped’ order status in Woocommerce yet. It is highly needed as almost all orders except digital products need to be shipped.

WooCommerce by Woo is a really flexible and easy-to-use eCommerce platform for growing online businesses. From managing products to handling orders smoothly, everything feels well organized. The order status flow like Processing, Shipped, and Order Completed helps both store owners and customers track purchases clearly. For digital products such as inatbox download, this kind of order management is very useful, as customers expect quick access and proper status updates. Overall, WooCommerce makes selling and delivering products online simple and reliable.
