is there a way to make image option as single-select?

    Yes, this would be possible in the upcoming version. Whenever Images is selected, we will be able to add a new tab below the Display tab. This tab would be called Allow Single Image Selection Only, and a checkbox or a toggle button will be shown.
    By default, the checkbox or toggle button will be unchecked, allowing multiple images to be selected. When checked, it restricts to a single image selection only.
