Subscription date to date or for a number of sent products

It would be great to be able to choose if the subscription is based on a time period, like it is now, or for a number of sent products. For instance for magazines or any press subscription, what matters for the customer is not to have a subscription during precisely one year but to receive the next 12 issues (for a monthly magazine).
