Provide Store Credit coupons that are redeemable at checkout. Send credit to your customers to use it in future purchases or allow them to gift credit to someone.
Offline spending options
Have a ui for the admin to enter in a gift card voucher and deduct a certain amount from it.
This would allow the gift card to be used in a physical store as well as against online purchases.
My client says that with their current gift cards they get people coming in several times a month to make purchases in the actual shop and end up being disappointed.
