I think it would be great for affiliates to automatically be added to a specific MailChimp email segmet/list to make contacting them easier in mass for updates and new campaigns.

Came here to suggest the same thing! I want them to go into their own segment or be tagged, so an automation starts as soon as they sign up + can easily send them more emails in future without needing to manually addand tag them.
