Hi,
I’m providing this feedback to suggest an improvement for the WooCommerce checkout experience.
While platforms like Shopify have a checkout process excellently designed to handle address fields natively, WooCommerce still lacks a built-in, intuitive way to manage Town/City, State, and ZIP Code fields based on the customer’s country.
Currently, for many markets (UK, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Chile, etc.), store owners must rely on custom code or third-party plugins to:
Upload and customize lists of cities or states.
Set custom labels for these fields that match local terminology.
Proposal:
It would be a significant improvement if WooCommerce core allowed merchants to:
Configure location lists (cities, states) via a simple filter or UI.
Customize field labels per country without needing workarounds.
This would help create a frictionless, localized checkout experience, similar to what other platforms now offer natively, and reduce dependency on external plugins for essential functionality.
Best regards,
Open
