Draft orders can be very useful for spotting possible checkout issues.
If a store suddenly has many incomplete checkouts and very few completed orders, that can be an early warning signal that something may be wrong in the checkout or payment flow.
I understand why some stores want fewer visible draft orders because of backend clutter, integrations, reporting, or gaps in order numbers.
However, order numbers may still skip even when the missing orders are not visible as completed, cancelled, or failed. So reducing visible draft orders does not seem to fully solve the order number gap issue.
Inactive draft orders are also automatically removed after a while, so the clutter is temporary.
Could WooCommerce please make draft order behavior configurable?
For example, stores could choose between reduced/default draft behavior and optional draft order visibility for stores that want to monitor incomplete checkouts.
