Hi WooCommerce team,
I would like to submit a feature request for WooPayments Multi Currency.
We run an international WooCommerce store using automatic customer currency switching. We currently support currencies including USD, CAD, AUD, NZD and SGD.
On normal WooCommerce product displays such as:
• Product category/archive pages
• Single product pages
• Related products
• Other standard product price displays
WooPayments displays CAD, AUD, NZD and SGD using only the $ symbol.
For example: $125
This is ambiguous for an international customer because they cannot tell whether the price is USD, CAD, AUD, NZD or SGD.
Interestingly, WooPayments already handles this correctly for the final cart total, where it displays:
$125 CAD
That is exactly the behaviour we would like throughout the storefront.
Ideally WooPayments should automatically display the ISO currency code whenever multiple enabled currencies share the same symbol:
$125 CAD
$125 AUD
$125 NZD
$125 SGD
while USD could remain simply: $125
Alternatively, please provide a Multi Currency setting allowing merchants to choose between:
$125
C$125
$125 CAD
This is particularly important with the newer cache optimized client side price renderer, because normal WooCommerce PHP price formatting filters can be overwritten when WooPayments renders the converted price in the browser.
The existing behaviour of adding the currency code to the final order/cart total is excellent. It would be very useful if the same explicit currency formatting could be applied to product prices across the storefront.
Can test this on our store, connect with a VPN from either CA, SG, AU or NZ https://lorraineartsy.art/collections/premium-art-posters/ then put something in checkout versus then switch to US VPN
Thanks,
Gabrio
